I thought that the L4D2 version is exactly the same (i.e. you play as the guys from the first game and everything) except you can pick up frying pans and etc for melee. Am I wrong?

Yeah, same here with the L4D2 update; it's the size of the whole game itself it seems.

Also I find it interesting that Valve is selling each game in its entirety for the price of the 360 DLC (and even less for both). I think there might be a message in there somewhere.

You're probably right, it's just weird because this DLC ties in with the Passing and would be utterly bizarre if you finished it with the L4D2 crew and then played through the Passing.

I just played The Sacrifice in both games and they're exactly the same (even the five new achievements for each game are carbon copies of each other), minus the new stuff from L4D2 in that campaign (specials, melee, etc). I did notice that there were a crapload of those CEDA agents in L4D2, so bile jars galore.

I said so in the deals thread, but if anyone wants to get a Left 4 Dead 2 4-pack, I'll pay for one.

Weird, you can now play the No Mercy campaign in L4D2.

edit - Okay, all the characters are now in L4D2, so The Sacrifice still has you playing as L4D1 characters. That makes sense given how it plays out.

The campaign also looks (a lot) better in L4D2.

Lot more bloom in L4D2, too. Adrenaline is nice for the end part, though. The end part is on a familiar map, so they only had to make two sections.

And yeah, you can play No Mercy in L4D2 with the original characters, but with all the new L4D2 additions.

I would play a thing but I've got probably 3 or more hours of work left today
