Default Peter Molyneux Prepares To Eat Foot Again

<a href="http://thevirtualunderground.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/molyneux_1104927594.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://thevirtualunderground.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/molyneux_1104927594-254x300.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a>

Peter Molyneux and his development team over at Lionhead have made some pretty amazing games in their tenure, but perhaps they are more famous for promising things in their games that never actually come to fruition. It was from this level of pre-release hype that some people believed the original Fable didn't deliver. Mr. Molyneux was better able to keep things in check when talking about the sequel, Fable 2, though in the weeks leading towards release his vocalizations did get more boisterous.

When Microsoft announced Fable 3 mid-2009 for a Fall 2010 release quite a few gamers were shocked at such a quick turn around time for a new entry, especially since folks were still working their way through the Download Content released for Fable 2. And the announcement's timing along with Peter Molyneax's involvement in Project Natal's announcement led many to wonder if Lionhead was going to support Microsoft's new motion controller/camera doohickie in Fable 3.

Since the announcement little has been revealed about the upcoming title, but that is set to change later this week. And according to Peter Molyneax himself - the news may not make everyone happy.

Speaking to Game Reactor about his upcoming appearance at Microsoft's X10 Conference:

"There's some very, very big things happening in Fable III, and it's really going to upset people, I'm really scared when I go out and tell people what it is, they're going to get super pissed off. They really are."

Speculation over his comments are already beginning - with some people already believing that the Lionhead founder is going to announce Fable 3 as a Natal launch game. Or even worse - a Natal ONLY game.

We'll have more details later in the week, after the X10 announcements are made.

If this guy put half as much effort into making games as he does into running his yap he might make some games that don't bore me to death.

i really liked the alst two fables, though the way the last game really didn't encourage specialization was a major issue i had. if i could implement my own playstyle more it woudld have been a classic. as it is, it was merely quite good. looking forward to the next fable.

I hear Fable II is great, but I heard that about the original Fable, as well. I did not agree. I guess the only other Molyneux game I've tried is Black and White, so maybe I've only played his worst games. I kind of doubt it, though.

well i'm sure all of his games are roughly the same. awe-isnpiring premisee, unfortunately limited execution.

Fable II is the game Fable should have been, but the combat was simplified.

Well I watched the sites and news for what ever Molyneux was going to say that would "piss off gamers" and I really didn't see anything. What was he referring to? The "Touch" aspect?

I guess this really was just another chance for Peter to open his mouth to hype something that never happened.
