Leaked concept art point to a SimCity 5

Several leaked images found by German magazine Gamestar appear to point to the existence of SimCity 5, which according to the magazine is about 30% done and slated for release in 2013.

NeoGAF users discovered the images and posted a translation of the Gamestar article, which claims that players can expect more complexity and detail from the new game, as well as more online multiplayer functionality as well. Regions can be created from multiple players’ cities, for instance, and they can all be susceptible to fluctuations in the costs of various commodities like fuels and food.

New elements and interactions with players’ SimCitizens will be showing up, as well. If unemployment gets too high, homeless people will begin filling the city parks. Construction workers will appear to handle construction jobs, and you will be able to watch sims go to work or school.

More on this as it develops, but in the meantime check out our gallery of concept art!
