If the SpikeTV Videogame Awards are the movie equivalent to the MTV Movie Awards, then it should go without saying that the Interactive Achievement Awards given away by the Interactive Arts and Sciences board is the Academy Awards of videogames. While the SpikeTV show likes to focus on the entertainment side of things, more interested in showing trailers for upcoming games than actually giving awards, the IAAs are focused entirely on the developers and their games. the ISAS is a board made up of various gaming visionaries, publishers and developers – who gather together at the Annual D.I.C.E. Summit to reward games and their creators with Game of the Year awards and other such trophies. Unlike the SpikeTV awards which are voted on by members of the gaming press and actual viewers, the IAAs are voted on purely by other developers and industry pundits.
