Looks like Electronic Arts is turning up the dial on their digital stalking efforts, but maybe they’re using those efforts for good – or at least sort of good.
According to a poster at Day One Patch, EA is able to check out the games you own on other services, such as Steam, and add them automagically to players’ accounts on their own Origin service. Basically this is done by Origin checking out the file names on users’ computers – without reading or transmitting private data – and using that to populate Origin accounts.
