Yo dog, we heard you like blocks…

If you’ve not heard of LEGO Cuusoo, it’s an official branch of the LEGO company that exists to take petitions from the people for new LEGO set ideas. Turns out, a group of folks have been petitioning for an official Minecraft LEGO set, and it’s achieved the necessary amount of support.

According to LEGO Cuusoo:

We’re happy to announce that the Minecraft project on LEGO CUUSOO has passed the LEGO review and we are now developing a concept that celebrates the best aspects of building with the LEGO system and in Minecraft. We can’t wait to show it to you-but it isn’t ready just yet. These things take time, so we appreciate your patience. More details are to come.

The sets aren’t in production yet, but you can check out some of the concept work that Mojang sent in for people to get a general idea of what LEGO Minecraft could look like.

It is appropriately blocky.

I would buy this to watch others build something, and then shoot fire through an open window in their house to watch it all burn and melt, just like real Minecraft. Well at least from all the videos I have watched, that is what happens in that game.

All of the blocks are in Beta. They won't work properly for a year after you purchase them.
