Space Quest II sees new life remade for modern computers

Some gamers just can’t let go of the classics, and are driven to make and remake them until the end of time and space.

Hey, speaking of space, the crew at Infamous Adventures just released their remake of Space Quest II: Vohaul’s Revenge – one of the classic Sierra graphical text adventure games from way back when. This of course, isn’t their first remake, they also turned in a great remake of King’s Quest III awhile back, and so they’ve spent their time honing their chops and getting better at their craft.

The remake covers a lot of ground in bringing the game up to speed for more modern sensibilities, adding in a point-and-click interface and voice acting. The game’s visuals have been upgraded as well, to a whopping 320×200 resolution with a 16 bit color palette. Of course, improvements like this don’t come cheap, the game requires a whopping 1 meg of RAM.

Space Quest II: Vohaul’s Revenge is available for Windows and OS X, and it’s free. Grab it and give the old classic a whirl.
