We realize that we are indeed very, very late in posting this call to voting. We hope you will take us up on this quickly!
As we do every year, we at the Virtual Underground have our own yearly awards, voted on by our community and posted up for the world to see and debate! This year we are boasting some new categories, including Best Indie Game, and our own version of the Razzie award, aptly called Worst Game of the Year. We’re not pulling any punches.
Follow the links below, and cast your vote, and stay tuned for the results on New Year’s Day!

abstaining due to gross lack of resident evil 5
Ugh. Not happy with any of these nominees. Especially the choices for Game of the Year - I mean Crysis 2? No ZELDA???? And multi-platform games in Console specific awards?
Oh well, still - great job getting it all together. Made it kinda difficult choosing some winners in there, but I did my duty.
ugh man
I totally missed your Zelda nom, don't know how. I fixed it for future generations to learn from my errors!
I was happy with the nominations, with the exception that Saints Row The Third is not in all of them. It would have made filling this out so much easier.
welp!
I honestly don't remember if I asked this last year and forgot what your answer was or if I forgot to ask last year, but is there just not a way to allow people to skip certain fields or add in a choice for 'no opinion'? Because I mean I get it, some people like Wii games still for whatever insane reason, but what the fuck do I care about them and more importantly, when I HAVE to pick one of them I'm just going to pick one randomly because I don't care and that's going to skew the results, and I'm sure the results matter to the insane people who like Nintendo games and haven't been locked in a dungeon yet. I would like to put it out there that if you HAD taken my nomination for Wii game of the year seriously and included it, I wouldn't even have anything to complain about. I mean I might have been the only one to vote for "LMAO you're kidding. You are kidding, right?" but MAYBE NOT.
Seriously though I think it would be beneficial for everyone if there were an option to skip a category or 'vote' for 'no vote'. There were actually a few categories where I really had no opinion whatsoever.
Other than that, I enjoyed my time voting for Portal 2 in every category it was nominated in and Bastion in everything else.
Well, I voted Skyward Sword. I don't expect it to "win", but that's quite alright, it was my favorite game of the past year and I enjoyed it very much so. But man, Skyrim is eating my time right now. Had it been released earlier maybe I would be maybe singing a different tune.
I only played one new video game all year
I played at least FOUR.
sorry not all of us have fat stacks of cash to throw around
sorry not all of us have rich friends to buy us brand new games all day long
I'm plenty nice to lae, but he only gives me old games like gow3
I think maybe he's doing you and all of us a favor in being selective, now that I think about it.
Thank you, Lae, for making sure faits doesn't throw his computer in the creek.
I guess I just figure, everyone here likes games and plays them, so they could at least make an educated stab at it. Think of yourselves as members of The Academy.
members of the academy get free copies of everything though
Well you're not actually members of The Academy. Just pretend.
Besides, think of the press the VU could draw by declaring Portal 2 Wii game of the year. Gotta make a name for yourself somehow.

well conversely, you could just delete one of them
just think of the press marlin would draw by deleting his own doublepost
it might get you some pressed hams
I thought we were going to vote for the 2009 VU game of the year awards?
Anyway I voted for Skyrim a lot.
If I accepted everyone's nominations then you'd have Resident Evil 5 in the running for best Wii game of 2011 and well
I don't think I nominated it for that sheesh
I would vote for it though
