If you’re a prospective Wii owner, at this point we have to wonder – what’s been holding you back? Well, if it’s all those pesky features, then you’re in luck!
According to the UK-based Official Nintendo Magazine, the Wii will be seeing a slight redesign for this upcoming holiday season. The new model, unlike the old Wii that was designed for vertical storage, is designed to sit flat on a shelf, much like the upcoming Wii U. It also gets rid of all that backward compatibility that nobody wanted, making it unable to play Gamecube games.
What it DOES come with, are copies of WiiSports and WiiParty, a Wii Remote Plus and a Nunchuk.
There’s yet to be any pricing or availability information, including whether Nintendo is going to try to hock this on folks outside of the UK, but we’ll keep you posted!
Is this the bundle you’ve been waiting for? Can you sense our sarcasm pervading this article? Let us know in the comments!
Edit: Nintendo reps claim that there are “no plans” to release this unit in America.
