WiiU discs will be 25GB large

Today, Kotaku.com confirmed in an interview with Katsuya Eguchi, one of Nintendo’s chief game designers that the new proprietary Wii U discs will hold 25 Gigabytes worth of data. Comparatively speaking, this is the same size as a single-layer Blu-Ray disc, the same format used by PlayStation 3 consoles.

Eguchi did not elaborate further on the system’s memory and storage, which is said to include 8GB of internal flash memory, as well as support for SD cards and external USB drives.

We’ll have more info for you on the WiiU as it is available in the coming days.
