Valve declares today to be Timbuk Tuesday

Updated! In today’s update to the upcoming Über Update in Valve’s Team Fortress 2, it was revealed that the multiplayer will have ridiculous amounts of melee players for the rest of the game’s history, or until this all gets nerfed.

Dubbed “Timbuk Tuesday,” today’s infodrop detailed two new sets of items, one for the Sniper class and one for the Demoman class.

Snipers get a new rifle called “The Bazaar Bargain,” that gets more effective for consecutive headshots, and a blade called “The Shahanshah,” which is more effective when a player has less than 50% health, and less effective otherwise.

Demomen get a new shield called “The Splendid Screen,” giving them added fire and explosive damage protection, enables charge impact damage from anywhere, and increases that damage by 70%. There’s also a new sword called the “Persian Persuader,” which increases charge recharge rate by 100%, and turns all ammo drops into health. Finally, “Ali Baba’s Wee Booties” give players an extra 25% max health, and a 100% increase in turning control while charging. It’ll be ridiculous!

The Über Update launches on Thursday for players on the PC version of the game. Everyone else is out of luck, as usual.

UPDATE: We’re not sure when this will drop, maybe tomorrow? But we’ve also uncovered information on new Scout items – a new scattergun, a new bat that gives players a triple jump, and a new pistol. Check it out:
