I loved the first Luigis mansion game. I know it took a hit since it was the marker title for th Gamecube launch. But taken by itself it's actually a neat little puzzle game with some nice stylish graphics.

I had a lot of fun playing the first with Kim. Too bad it's stuck on a handheld. I wonder if the WiiU will allow people to play the 3DS on the TV, with the controller acting as the bottom of the dS.

    That's an interesting thought Jon.

This was my favourite news of the Nintendo conference! I loved the first one, so it's great to see it make a come back.

  5. SteveM's Avatar SteveM says:

I remember having a good time with Luigi's Mansion at the GC launch but its been a really long time since I've played that now. Still I'm interested in this new one because of those fond memories and it looked good from the video at the conference.

Luigi's Mansion was a pretty good game, but it was not a system carrying $50 kind of game.

Thank goodness for Rogue Squadron 2! Now there's a series I'd love to see again, that game was outstanding.

I literally cheered when I saw Luigi's Mansion 2 announced. I've been waiting YEARS for this one - thats how much I loved the original. And putting it on the 3DS is perfect for me. I actually play my handheld Nintendos about 4 times as much as my television bound Nintendos.

    I never played luigi's mansion

did you vacuum ghosts in that game? that seems about right

Rogue Squadron 2 is a great game and I think I got all but 1 ace medal from the never ending battle bonus mission. Too bad RS3 wasn't nearly as good, I didn't make much of an effort for all the medals in that one since there were too many levels that were poorly designed and not fun.

Yeah I think the gist of the game was that you explored a mansion and vacuumed up all the ghosts.

The only worthwhile part about about RS3 was that it incorporated 2 in co-op. Having said that, the original is still my favorite of the lot, with the series getting progressively worse. Also, LM rocked. It still looks really good today imo.

Loved the first Luigi's Mansion - I got it for free back when I preordered Mario Sunshine.

I enjoyed it far more than Sunshine.

I don't know if I'd be up for a handheld version, though - I'd imagine they'll use the screen in place of an analog stick (for aiming/pulling the vacuum) and that seems kind of awkward. But who knows. I'd need a 3DS before I'd even consider it anyway.

  14. Maverick's Avatar Maverick says:

Wow. I never got Luigi's Mansion free for preordering Mario Sunshine. I feel ripped off now.

I got Luigi's Mansion for free for buying a GameCube at Target on Day One. I also got a shitty fold up chair which is still somewhere around here.

Apparently they ditched controlling the vacuum cleaner in favor for just hammering A while steering Luigi clear of obstacles. Anyway, the game is a perfect fit for the 3DS, with it's sideways view and chuncky visuals. Might have to get myself a 3DS after all. Then again, Pikmin was confirmed for WiiU, so maybe not.
