The Marvel Universe to invade Little Big Planet

Sony’s flagship title in their “Play, Create, Share” initiative Little Big Planet has been a massive hit, spawning a PSP spin-off and an upcoming sequel, not to mention millions of user created levels. Sony and developers Media Molecule have also been supporting the title with tons of DLC, including a popular Metal Gear set that included Metal Gear themed costumes and levels. Today Sony announced a new partnership with Marvel Comics to bring in a slew of costumes based around popular Marvel characters. And if that wasn’t enough there will also be a Marvel Level Kit featuring 4 brand new Marvel-themed levels that have players trying to bring down the evil mutant mastermind Magneto. Similar to the Metal Gear levels, the Marvel Level Kit will have new stickers, music and objects that you can then use in your own created levels.

Here is a list of the Marvel Characters scheduled to appear:

  • Captain America
  • Daredevil
  • Doctor Octopus
  • Elektra
  • Ghost Rider
  • Green Goblin
  • Hulk
  • Invisible Woman
  • Iron Man
  • The Human Torch
  • Magneto
  • Mystique
  • The Punisher
  • Rogue
  • Spider-Man
  • Storm
  • The Thing
  • Thor
  • Venom
  • Wolverine

The Marvel DLC will be released on July 7th.
