Square-Enix announces Chaos Rings for iPhone

Mar 18, 2010

The latest mobile title from the venerable publisher is Chaos Rings, an RPG that looks to be on par with a number of PlayStation-era games. It sounds like it’s stacked up pretty solidly on the development end, with designs by Final Fantasy VII designer Yusuke Naora, Wild ARMs series composer Noriyasu Agematsu and a story by novelist and scenario writer Yukinori Kitajima, who was chief writer on Sega’s 428, exclusive only to the Wii in Japan.

Detailed in this week’s Famitsu, the game involves a number of two-man teams caught up and forced to fight in a tournament called the Arka Arena.

Scheduled for release “soon,” we’ll be sure to provide you with more information as it becomes available.
