The hit RPG from cult publisher Atlus was recast on Sony’s portable device and released in Japan last November. With the recent success of the franchise in the US, it seemed like a given that this remake would eventually make the transition, and we now have official confirmation from Atlus. Persona 3 Portable is set to hit North American shelves July 6th, 2010. In the mean time fans of Persona will have to sate their hunger with the remake of the first Persona game which was released on the PSP last fall in North America.
Atlus released a teaser trailer on Wednesday which reveals the release date at the end:
Persona 3 was a sleeper hit for the PS2 in 2007, enough so that the enhanced edition termed Persona 3: FES was also localized. Persona 3 Portable will be the third version of the game, featuring a new player character in addition to adjusted mechanics such as the ability to directly control all members in your party.
Y’know, I absolutely love the soundtracks of the recent Persona games. I wonder if this tune was done just for the trailer, or if there will be more expanded content featuring new music.
