In response to Nintendo’s decision not to localize Fatal Frame 4 for a Western release, a group of fans banded together to create an English-language patch for English-speaking gamers.
Using SD cards and an external hard disk, interested gamers can run an imported copy of the game in English on any North American, European or Japanese Wii console, bypassing regional constraints. However, the patch does require a legit retail disc, making pirated copies of the game unusable.
Of course, the patch isn’t licensed by its developers or by Nintendo, so we’ll see how long it takes for the cease and desist letter to come through.

Doesn't matter if a cease and desist comes down, it's in the wild. That's a bunch of trouble to go through to simply play a game, really shows how dedicated some of the Fatal Frame fanbase is. Shame that Tecmo got mixed up with Nintendo on this entry. It really did ruin everything, and is preventing a good chunk of the fanbase who can't be bothered with all this, (or be bothered with owning a Wii, like me) from being able to play the game at all. I keep wanting to want a Wii, and Nintendo keeps giving me more and more reasons to not get one ever again.
