Already being considered by many as Game of the Year material, despite just being released, Bayonetta has become an almost surprise hit from the creator of the original Devil May Cry. And while the sales have hardly even begun to be counted, its not too early to start thinking of sequels.
In an interview of the March 2010 issue of Game Informer, Platinum Games Director Hideki Kamiya commented on the possibility of a sequel coming out.
“We obviously have love for the work we have created, so I don’t see anything wrong with Bayonetta 2. Personally, I’d like to approach the world of Bayonetta from a different angle, in the form of a spin-off.”
So does a spin-off mean that Bayonetta’s former partner Jeanne may play a staring role? Or will the Witch with the hair fetish remain in the top billing?
