Florida Highway Patrol reported early Friday morning that champion golfer Tiger Woods, face of EA Sports’ Tiger Woods PGA Golf, was injured in a car crash near his home in Windemere, a suburb of Orlando.
The one-car accident happened at about 2:25am according to the incident report. Woods, 33, had pulled out of his driveway in his 2009 Cadillac SUV and had started driving down the street when he struck a fire hydrant and then hit a tree, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
While the accident is being investigated, early reports indicate that alcohol was likely not involved.
According to Windemere mayor Gary Bruhn, local police arrived within two minutes after being notified. Woods, who was taken to local Health Central Hospital, was treated for facial lacerations and subsequently released.
Currently it is unclear as to the cause of the accident, and charges may be pending.
Tiger Woods with an errant drive.
He's off the fairway with that one.
I heard the airbags didn't deploy because apparently there was a hole in one.
Ha, that's a good one.
In somewhat seriousness, I guess his wife is a beast. She smashed in the back window of the car (with a golf club, of course) and dragged him out of the car while he was unconscious, to lay him out on the ground before paramedics got there.
Maybe he married a titan.
You're right, these golf puns are uncalled fore.
Why did she putt the golf club through the back window? I mean, I know he drove the car wide into the trees (and through the water hazard, apparently), but was he really that deep in the rough that she had to club out the back window? Well, fortunately a little birdie told me that Tiger is already out of the hospital, and is probably in the sand laughing most of this away and soaking up the sun by now.
I hope the next Tiger Woods PGA game has a driving mini-game in it.
You sir, are a class act.

Who's Tiger Woods?

You apparently are severely lacking in knowledge of swedish physiology if you even need to ask that question.
The depths of my swedish knowledge basically extends to the delicious meatballs you can get at Ikea. Also, lingonberry soda.
also chairs with twenty syllable names
You know I got all caught up in the bad puns and discussion of swedish physiology that I forgot to wonder about why a post about tiger woods getting into a car accident is in general game discussion (other than maybe that there is a video game about him?)
Anyway I guess the word is (according to sources who watch nothing but golf and cable news) tiger had been cheating on his disproportionately-strong scandinavian bride, and that at the time of his accident he was attempting to get away from her, as she broke first the back window and then the rest of the windows of his vehicle with a golf club. The injuries to his face not coming from the accident, but rather from the beating she had given him.
This sheds new light on the fact that he is "sleeping" each time the cops go to his house for questioning. Apparently "he's sleeping" is the new "she fell down the stairs/into a doorknob" etc.
Scandal!
Though his sponsors, including EA, put an announcement out today that they are going to stick by him.

sidebar: I think that the recent forum weirdness has apparently started to cause random double posts
No, that was actually just my computer. =p
are you sure? I didn't look at the time stamps and you've since deleted one of them, but in the fantasy football thread today jon did a double post and both posts had the same time stamps. Since you physically can't post more than once within a given span of time (a couple minutes?) that indicates to me there is some forum weirdness going on
I can't understand what's being said here but their animation is priceless and explains the whole theory as posted above by faits.
No but seriously, if it wasn't for Jon doing the same thing, I was gonna say that folks with admin access are exempt from timing rules (it's like 30 seconds). It is probably a glitch in the Matrix. An agent is probably coming.
(no but seriously it is likely a server thing it is being looked into)
Man they really should use The Sims for re-enactments. That was awesome.
