Desert Bus fundraiser pulls down over $132k

Nov 27, 2009

The third outing for the Desert Bus for Hope crew run by comedy troupe LoadingReadyRun was a productive one. After more than five days of playing what is arguably the world’s most boring game, the fundraiser netted $132,392.94 for the Child’s Play charity.

Desert Bus is a minigame from the unreleased Penn and Teller minigame, “Smoke and Mirrors.” Interested parties can try the game out here.

  1. Good to hear, don't know if I would have that dedication. Then again I did watch the directors cut of Dances with Wolves.

I tried the game and wow that has got to be tough to play for that long without falling asleep in your seat. Great for them though raising all of that money.

  3. faits's Avatar faits says:

the thing about driving a real desert bus (well motor home) is you're kept from falling asleep by a continuous, pressing terror of driving off the road and dying.

The threat of having to reset the game doesn't seem like it would have the same effect.
