It was accidentally leaked by the ESRB this past weekend, but now it’s been confirmed by Nintendo via an updated release list.
Also of note? The game’s coming out this month. Castlevania Adventure: The Rebirth has a release dated Q3 on Wiiware, and since we’re coming to the end of Q3, well, you know.
More details to come as they become available. But who knows? You might be playing the game by then.

I just don't get this kind of move... either it will be faithful to the original and only the core gamer that also owns a Wii will play it, or it will be a mangled wagglefest, in which case nobody will play it. When are publishers going to realize that the majority of the Wii audience doesn't want serious video games? Meanwhile, PSN and XBLA users seem more likely to go for games like this, and get jack. It just makes no sense!
This is something like the 3rd or so game in their Rebirth series. They must be doing decently with these types of games because as of right now they are just on the Wii. It does seem like there aren't as many old school games coming out on the 360 or ps3 that aren't HD remakes anymore. Though I also think that there are more than just the core gamers that are buying titles like these. I think the Wii also gets a lot of the people that like the old school games but aren't as interested in current gaming. People like that would pick these titles up because they stay true to the era of games they enjoy.
Also if it follows the path of previous Rebirth titles I don't think it will use motion control at all and should look and play similar to something like Castlevania IV.
That was one of my first Gameboy games.
Also also, putting these things together for the Wii is quicker and cheaper because they don't have that HD requirement.

Dear Konami,
Please stop making me want to get a Wii.
Thank you,
Pete
That is definitely old school Castlevania - No "Super Metroid" tricks or maps here.
I may have to check it out if it does get a US release.
Oh man. I am all up ons. Between this and Excitebike and the FFIV After Years finale, I am pretty pumped for Wiiware this season.
