Shifty Pete was at Best Buy recently and saw that they had The Red Star marked down to $10. He was unable to resist picking it up, and you know what that means: time for another contest!
Rules:
To enter the contest, you must play a game… a bad game. Picking the game is up to you, but the winner will be decided by popular vote based on how much you suffered in playing it, so it is to your advantage to find the worst game you can.
The restrictions are that you must not have played this game much before–having played it briefly in passing is OK, but we want as much of the experience to be fresh as possible. You must play the game to the end without using cheat codes, save states, game altering devices, etc. Not having a definable “end,” MMO’s and other open-ended games are ineligible for this contest, as are some multiplayer-only games, etc. Strategy guides are discouraged unless the game requires one to see large portions of the game (ex: Suikoden) or you are stuck and otherwise unable to progress despite your best efforts.
Write up your thoughts, feelings, suicidal impuleses, etc. about the game and post or link them here. Winner will be decided by popular vote after the entry period has ended. If at the end of the entry period there are less than 5 entries, the deadline will be pushed back by two weeks. The deadline will be moved thus up to 3 times, and if there are not at least 5 entries after 3 extensions, the contest is canceled (I mean, come on… we need at least 5 people to make this sporting). The initial (and hopefully final) deadline for submitting entries is 6/30/2009. That gives everybody over two months, so hopefully we’ll get good participation this time.
The winner will get his or her choice of an item from the prize pool listed below.
